The “NAB”, or National Accountability Bureau, is Pakistan’s apex anti-corruption organization. It was formed in 19991 and operates under the National Accountability Ordinance-1999. The NAB is charged with the responsibility of eliminating corruption through a comprehensive approach that includes awareness, prevention, and enforcement.
In 2022, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) anti-corruption department arrested 141 government employees. According to the KP anti-corruption report 2022, a total of 1561 complaints of corruption were received from the province. The anti-corruption department has recovered Rs 60 million from the arrested government employees.
The Enquiries and Anti-Corruption Establishment (E&ACE) is the anti-corruption body in the Government of Sindh. The current Chairman of E&ACE is Usman Ghani Siddiqui, who is appointed by the Chief Secretary of Sindh. The Chairman E&ACE heads the Enquiries and Anti-Corruption Establishment and is usually a Grade-21 officer. This position is one of the most senior in the Government of Sindh.
The Punjab Police also takes measures against corruption within its ranks. The Inspector General of Punjab has requested citizens to report any police officer involved in corruption to the IGP Complaint Center. The name of the informant will remain confidential, and an inquiry will be conducted against the said officer or official.
The Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab (ACE) is a governmental organization situated in the province of Punjab, Pakistan. Its primary objective is to investigate cases of corruption and conduct preliminary inquiries to assess whether these offenses warrant further investigation.
The Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) is the anti-corruption body in the Government of Punjab. The ACE operates under the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) of the Government of Punjab. It handles various anti-corruption measures, including complaint handling, enquiry, case registration, and trap raids.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is the federal government’s primary agency for fighting corruption in Pakistan. The FIA was established in 1974, merging the Special Police Establishment (SPE), which was initially set up to fight corruption. The FIA has an Anti Corruption Wing that has been actively fighting corruption, except for a short period from 16.08.2004 to 24.10.2008, during which its powers to deal with corruption cases were seized by NAB.
