What is the “Complaints Desk”
Features of the “Complaints Desk”:
The Complaints Desk is taking the following measures to promote trust between the public and government institutions, protect citizens’ rights, uphold the rule of law, facilitate access to justice, and eliminate bribery:
- Complaints Desks are being established at police stations, government hospitals, development authorities, WAPDA offices, corporations, land record offices, Tehsildar offices, railway stations, major markets, and other locations.
- Two to three employees in official uniform will be available at each Complaints Desk during office hours to register public complaints. Facilities will include a cabin, a portable counter, and a laptop.
- These centers are being established in all districts across the province.
Free Legal Assistance through the “Complaints Desk”
Upon the applicant’s request, the institution will provide complete oversight and monitoring until justice is achieved.- To protect applicants from threats or undue pressure, the institution will prioritize support through the Human Rights Commission, Women Protection authorities, other law enforcement agencies, as well as private security services and safe houses where necessary.
- All facilities for eligible individuals will be provided through charitable funds.
- Preventing the withdrawal of complaints, discouraging the return of complaints without a decision, monitoring any threats or pressure during settlements with the accused, and removing obstacles to justice will be among the institution’s highest priorities.
- Measures will be taken to ensure impartial investigations and prevent injustice throughout the investigation process.
