About Us

The ACACF Charitable Trust serves as an access to justice center for individuals experiencing rights violations based on gender. It provides protection and support services during times of crisis, including emergency shelter, legal aid, and advocacy initiatives promoting mechanisms against violence, exploitation, abuse, and neglect. The organization pioneers the concept of “Protection with Dignity©” across its policies and activities.

Our Mission

The ACACF is dedicated to aiding women and children who have suffered from violence or the denial of human rights. Its mission is to offer ample protection and support services during times of crisis, facilitating access to justice through legal aid and necessary interventions.

Our History

Responding to the needs of women in distress, human rights activist and lawyer Hina Jilani founded ACACF in Lahore in 1990. Initially a project under AGHS Legal Aid Cell, ACACF evolved into an independent entity in 1996, providing support to over 8000 women within and outside of Pakistan.

Programs

Empowering Beauticians and Salon Owners for Change In 2022, ACACF introduced the ‘Apney Saath Apna Mustaqbil Bhi Sawarein’ campaign, targeting beauticians and salon owners to raise awareness about women’s rights in marriage and domestic violence.

From Vigilance to Protection

The Tashadad se Tahafaz Tak campaign expands information dissemination on gender-based violence protection, urging citizens and responders to offer comprehensive support.

Nasim Digital Art Therapy Program

The NDATP aids women who survived gender-based violence through photography therapy.

‘Protection with Dignity’ Initiative

Introduced in 2010, this campaign aims to eliminate violence against women while promoting dignity and support
systems.

Capacity Development Initiatives

ACACF offers training sessions annually to enhance skills in women and child protection.
Community Awareness and Sensitization Initiative Launched in 2010, this program aims to eradicate social attitudes contributing to violence against women.
